Free speech means you can say whatever you want. It does not, however, mean that you are free of consequences (positive or negative) your speech may incur.

Similarly, free will means you can do whatever you want. Nevertheless, it does not mean that you can avoid consequences of your actions, for better or for worse.

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the Law, Love under Will.

Mary and Amy were roommates in college, and they shared a one-bedroom apartment. Amy's mother came to visit. After she left, they were making soup one day and couldn't find their ladle with which to serve it. Amy called her mother.

"Mom...I'm not saying you're a thief, but did you take our ladle? We can't find it anywhere."

Her mom paused for a moment, and then said, "Well, sweetie, I'm not saying you and Mary are lesbians, but if you were sleeping in your own bed you'd have found it."
